Product Description

The HCU 4, like our NAM 4, has between 4 and max. 36 high-precision attenuators that permit complex radio hop simulation such as it is required for handover test scenarios, for example. The system can be linked up and controlled via Ethernet and easily be integrated in a network. This means the HCU 4 can be controlled remotely from any widely available terminal program, from any standard web browser or the eubus Controller Software.

Our open interface protocol can be used to implement the HCU 4 in existing systems.

In addition to the high-precision attenuators the HCU 4 system is also configured with in-phase power dividers/combiners (unlike the NAM 4 system) for splitting or combining two RF-Signals in phase while providing isolation between the two signals. This makes handover simulation flexible and easy to use.

The HCU 4 can also be operated manually whenever necessary. The included Controller Software can be used to create professional long-term tests that run automatically for a specified period for the purpose of load simulations in the field of mobile communications. In addition, multiple tests can run in parallel time-independently. High-precision attenuation is possible in 0,5 dB (0,38-3GHz) or 1 dB (0,7-6GHz) increments in the range of milliseconds. All time settings, test lengths and attenuation value settings are infinitely adjustable. The attenuation values appear on the device's display and can be queried at any time using the operating software. All tests can thus be carried out and controlled remotely.

For each channel an attenuation offset value can be set.

The HCU 4 system was designed to simulate the conditions of a radio hop in all current and future radio networks and can be updated easily for upcoming technologies and frequencies. The system offers 4 to max. 36 inputs and outputs, works in the millisecond range, and can be used either in the laboratory or as a mobile unit in field applications.
